Exceptionally Large Antique Japanese Hand Embroidery Depicting Peacocks in Black Frame

This exquisitely executed and extremely large (over two metres) piece of Japanese embroidery is stitched in fine silk.  The subject is two peacocks in a traditional setting with other birds flying around in the distance.  Apart from the extremely high quality embroidery, what really sets this piece apart is the colour pallet of soft greys,  browns and pinks on a silk linen mix background.  We bought this piece, alongside another in silver tones which is also listed on our website.

Newly framed.
