A 1950's French Brass Polychrome & Glass Console Table by Maison Jansen L
One of two differently sized but matching mid-century console tables of exceptional quality in a distinct Neoclassical design style by Maison Jansen (see p 297 of 'Jansen Furniture' by James Archer Abbott for similar design). With brass frame and black lacquered legs, the brass has a beautiful vintage patina. A notable feature is the use of classical motifs, specifically the decorative brass claw and ball feet, a design element typical of Maison Jansen's work and the central decorative medallion to the centre of the x-form stretcher.
One of a number of pieces purchased from the same design including another, slightly smaller console, a pair of side tables and a coffee table.
