An Exquisite 18th Century Italian Gilded Framed Paperolle Reliquary

An exquisite antique Italian paperolle reliquary.  These beautiful and intricate pieces were made with tiny, tightly rolled pieces of paper.  These were used to create remarkable shapes, the paper was then colourfully painted and the tops were then gilded.  Sometimes these were made in monasteries, sometimes in aristocratic homes.  This one was in the ownership of an aristocratic from Turin.
