A French Cobalt Blue Painted Trunk Dating from 1869

The colour of this trunk is an extraordinary bright powdery cobalt blue, delicately decorated with hand painted flowers and wreaths and dated on the lid.  There is a single drawer at the bottom and a small, hidden drawer in the main trunk.  Sturdy carrying handles.  Many years ago the interior of the lid appears to have been used for pencil drawn hand writing practice.
