Art Deco Modernist Console Desk by Renowned Design House Maison Krieger

- +

This superb piece of modernist design is truly unique.  We have researched it thoroughly and been unable to find another example.  We believe that renowned Parisian design house Maison Krieger may have produced this one-off piece for their own studio.  It comprises many different design elements from iron geometric feet with wooden sphere detail, red, twisted moulding, complimented by oak veneer and painted wood.  On the front there is delightful detail of real dried flowers surrounded by oak limed wood and brass lines.  Truly French in design.  This could serve as a desk, a console, a sideboard or a counter.

Some additional information on Krieger:

Art Deco Maison Krieger furniture is rare, especially modernist art deco which is the most sought after style in the French and German Art Deco movement.  Maison Krieger is a very well known make but there is little documentation on their art deco period as they specialized in ‘mobilier de style’ or reproduction period furniture.  Some of the biggest cabinet makers and designers cut their teeth at Krieger – including Louis Sognot, Marcel Guillemard and Georges de Feure.
